Coins from all over African continent
The coins from the African continent as well, reveal important aspects of each country’s political and economic history, while simultaneously making strong references to its religious and broader cultural identity. Particularly interesting however, is that most countries tend to depict on their coins elements of their local fauna and (secondarily) flora – usually species native to their respective area. The Bank of Greece collection also boasts samples of collectible coins from African countries issued to commemorate various actions carried out by international organisations (such as the UNESCO or the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation).
