Coins from all over Asian - Oceanian continents
The coins of Asian countries primarily shed light on their respective political history, bearing images of rulers and national coats of arms. However, most of them also assert the country’s religious identity, with the Islamic countries of the Near and Middle East using passages from the Quran, the depiction of mosques, as well as the Islamic calendar on their representations. Southeast Asian countries on the other hand, to promote their national identity, alongside their religious references choose imagery from their intangible cultural heritage, or native costumes, but mostly elements of the local flora and fauna.
