GREEK PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

Each Member State of the European Union assumes the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union for six months, and Greece will be holding the Presidency in the first half of 2014. This gives Greece the opportunity to more actively promote the common objectives of the EU, with a focus on employment, growth and social cohesion, and to contribute to a stronger Union.
