What do the showcases contain?
The showcases consist of significant samples of gold coins and medals that cover a vast time span and geographical areas.
The precious and varied collections have been built up over time through numerous purchases.

Asia - Oceania
The coins of Asian countries primarily shed light on their respective political history, bearing images of rulers and national coats of arms.
Africa
The coins from the African continent as well, reveal important aspects of each country’s political and economic history, while simultaneously making strong references to its religious and broader cultural identity.
Europe A4
Europe is widely represented with a significant number of old gold coins from the collection of the Bank of Greece, which largely reflect recent European history (the oldest one here dating back to the 17th century).
Europe A5
A more recent chapter of modern European history, namely that of colonialism, is eloquently reflected in the portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II on coins from both the United Kingdom and numerous other countries.
Greece
Masterpieces of Greek antiquity have been particularly popular in numismatic imagery in recent decades.
