THE LION AND THE MOUSE

AESOP'S FABLES
THE LION AND THE MOUSE

A mouse accidentally wakes up a lion, and the lion grabs the mouse and is about to eat him. “Please let me go”, says the mouse, “I might be of help to you some day”. The lion laughs at the idea of ever needing help from a mouse, but lets him go. Time passes, and the lion is caught in a hunter’s net. Hearing his cries, the mouse runs to the rescue, gnawing through the net and thus freeing the lion.
